Annie Hsu is the recipient of this year’s Gordon Smith Environmental Youth Award. She is a dedicated environmental steward, who has played a key role at Belcarra Regional Park in Belcarra. To read more about Annie and her accomplishments, click here.
The Gordon Smith Youth Environmental Stewardship Award was created to honour Gordon Smith, a champion for the environment who loved involving children and youth in his projects. The award encourages and inspires young people to pursue environmental activities and studies.
Nominations for the 2010 Award may be submitted by April 1, 2010 to Metro Vancouver Parks Attn: Denise Coutts

Briefly describe the student’s volunteer work and its impacts on the environment, other youth, and the community, plus their educational and career interests.
The Gordon Smith Youth Environmental Stewardship Award will help youth in furthering their environmental - conservation - stewardship education. The Pacific Parklands Foundation will oversee and administer the fund that supports the annual award.
Gordon Smith, a parks planner with Metro Vancouver Parks East Area, passed away from cancer in 2001 and thus the living legacy of the Gordon Smith Youth Environmental Stewardship Award has been created.
Previous award winners include Angie Ramey (2008), Corey Bunnell (2007) Greg von Euw (2006), Yan Zhao (2005), Merry Gong (2005 honourable mention), Naomi Bollman (2004) and Laura Super (2003).
