Youth in Parks

Catching the Spirit

This environmental stewardship program run by youth for youth is gearing up for its ninth season in 2009!
This year, the program is slated to run in four regional parks: Pacific Spirit Regional Park in Vancouver, Capilano River Regional Park in North Vancouver, Tynehead Regional Park in Surrey and Burnaby Lake Regional Park in Burnaby. We are now recruiting Peer Leaders and Program Supervisors.
For more info on applications and registration, go to the website, send an email or call (604) 562-0583.

Belcarra Beachkeepers
At Belcarra Regional Park, volunteers help park visitors learn more about the creatures of sea and shore and, at the same time, shows them ways of being better stewards of the marine environment. A collaboration between Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and local volunteers, this program gets volunteers out on the beach. To find out more, go to the Beachkeepers page or contact the Beachkeepers Volunteer Coordinator by email or call (604) 420.3031.
